The first draft of "Global Illumination and Caustics" was submitted the other day. The book is building fast, and there is about 3gb of 'companion files', mostly cache files for Final Gather, GI and Caustics. Next up is Importons and Irradiance Particles!

yes..IP and importons are new algorythm that not be extended in the community yet... its fine that you cover it on the book...

Chapter 7 covers Importons and IP. It is still an area that has not had a lot of exposure so perhaps this will help to make it more visible and used in the 3ds Max community. I use IP a lot and for many scenes it produces faster and better results than FG and GI, however for some scenes it can take much longer than FG/GI. No technology is perfect for all situations, and you have to gain a knowledge of each and play to gain experience so you can determine the best course for a particular scene.
And test test test as early and as often as possible!
